Following the success of The Tour de France earlier this summer, Timeline is delighted to be working with VSquared TV once again to bring La Vuelta to ITV4 for the second year running.
Using the latest in tight-turnaround broadcast technology,
the team produces a one-hour highlights show every evening,
covering each stage of the race in record time.
The Spanish race pictures are received using Timeline’s dedicated satellite links and recorded onto an EVS XT system. Commentary is recorded at Timeline’s Ealing facility, mixed and inserted live into the feed before the media is streamed to the shared SAN storage. Presentation sequences shot in Timeline’s studio are the other key component of the programmes.
The edit team is then able to access and cut with the pictures as they arrive, allowing them to deliver finely-crafted packages despite the time constraints. Sending the finished programme back to the EVS server for play-out is as simple as a single QuickTime export into a shared folder.
Transmission takes place from Timeline’s TX Gallery, ISDN lines allow zero-latency talk-back with the network whilst fully-capable broadcast facilities provide the production team with everything they need to ensure smooth on- and off-air transitions. A satellite up-link provides a diverse transmission path for confidence, in addition to Timeline’s two dedicated fibre lines.
With a proven track-record in tight-turnaround editing and first-class transmission facilities, there is no doubt Timeline will be leading the breakaway through to the end of La Vuelta 2013.
Cycling: La Vuelta A Espana Highlights airs on ITV4 at 7pm every evening through to September 15th.
