The Henley Regatta, founded in 1839, is the best-known rowing regatta in the world and is one of the highlights of the summer sporting and social calendar in the UK. In 2015 it was broadcast for the first time since 1976.
Thousands of visitors attend to watch races of international standard, including Olympians and emerging stars from around the world. The coverage is produced in high definition and streamed on the Henley Royal Regatta website and YouTube channel, and displayed on screens in the grandstands. Furthermore, Finals Day of the 2015 event was broadcast live on the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website.
Sunset + Vine|APP, a multi-award-winning UK independent TV sports production company and host broadcaster for the Regatta, awarded Timeline TV the contract to provide the outside broadcast and RF facilities for the Henley Royal Regatta.
‘It is fantastic to be chosen by Sunset + Vine|APP to assist in taking the prestigious rowing event to a global audience for the first time since 1976. Timeline has also worked with Sunset + Vine|APP on the London Olympics 2012 and Volvo Ocean Race.’ comments Martin Bailey, Head of Outside Broadcasts at Timeline Television.
