Timeline provided presentation facilities for BBC Sport’s coverage of cycling’s UCI World Road Championships in Yorkshire. This is the first time the competition has been held in Britain since 1982 and the BBC’s live coverage runs from 22nd to 29th September.
This high-profile event in the international road cycling calendar included a range of men’s and women’s races, plus the inaugural team time trial mixed relay. The events started in different towns and cities throughout Yorkshire, but all finished in the main competition town of Harrogate.
Timeline’s 4K UHD/HD outside broadcast truck, OB16 was on-site for the duration of the event, and supported the BBC’s presentation operation. A feed of the host event was taken, alongside 3 studio cameras, a 3-person commentary box, mixed zone interviews and a roving reporter RF camera. OB16’s built-in satellite dish facilitated almost 20 hours of live network broadcasts and a further 30 hours of red button coverage throughout the week-long event.
